Karlin Moments began with an unexpected cup of tea
While visiting a city away from home, we stepped into a newly opened little lunch place and ordered tea. What arrived was much more than simply a pot and two cups. The tea was prepared and served as a ritual, with care, attention and a sense of occasion. As devoted tea drinkers, this was unlike anything we had experienced before. The flavour was extraordinary, but just as memorable was the moment itself.
We left one thought: how could we bring something of this experience home?
Back home in the kitchen we began experimenting. At first, we tried to recreate the whole ritual itself. But soon realised that what made it so special involved several separate steps — beautifully at the table, but not very practical to share with others. So we started wondering whether we could capture its character in another way; in loose-leaf tea.
What followed was a long process of testing, adjusting and waiting. Blends were prepared in the kitchen at home, left to develop, tasted, changed and tried again. We paid close attention to the balance between the tea and its ingredients, searching for the point where all the flavours came together while still reflecting the tea experience that had inspired us. Quality mattered, but so did creating something that could still be enjoyed as an everyday luxury.

Eventually, we arrived at the blend we had been looking for: our Persian Blend. It is not a reproduction of that first tea or its ritual. Instead, it is our interpretation of the warmth, richness and sense of occasion we remembered from that experience — translated into a loose-leaf blend that can be prepared and enjoyed at home.
Creating the Persian Blend made us curious about what else we could bring to the collection. Rather than simply offering a large collection of teas, we wanted to choose blends we genuinely enjoyed ourselves and would be happy to serve at our own table.
So we took our time. We tasted, compared and carefully selected our teas for their quality, character and flavour, gradually building a collection in which every blend has earned its place. Some are rich and comforting, others fresh, fragrant or refined — but each one reflects the same attention to taste that started with that very first cup.
